32:1 因为约伯自以为义，那三个友人就不再回答他。
Then the three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

32:2 那时，有个布次兰族的人，巴辣革耳的儿子厄里乌，由于约伯在天主前自视为义人，便大为愤怒；
But the anger of Elihu, son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was kindled. He was angry with Job for considering himself rather than God to be in the right.

32:3 同时也对约伯的三个友人大为震怒，因为他们找不到适当的答复，因此显得天主不公。
He was angry also with the three friends because they had not found a good answer and had not condemned Job.

32:4 厄里乌先等他们同约伯讲完话，因为他们都比他年老。
But since these men were older than he, Elihu bided his time before addressing Job.

32:5 他一见他们三人无话可说，遂大为愤怒。
When, however, Elihu saw that there was no reply in the mouths of the three men, his wrath was inflamed.

32:6 于是布次人巴辣革耳的儿子厄里乌发言说：
So Elihu, son of Barachel the Buzite, spoke out and said: I am young and you are very old; therefore I held back and was afraid to declare to you my knowledge.

32:7 我心想：「老人应先发言，年高者应教人认识智慧。」
Days should speak, I thought, and many years teach wisdom!

32:8 但人本来都具有灵性，全能者的气息赋与人聪明；
But it is a spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding.

32:9 并不是年高者就有智慧，老年人就通晓正义。
It is not those of many days who are wise, nor the aged who understand the right.

32:10 故此我请你们且听我说，我也要表示我的见解。
Therefore I say, hearken to me; let me too set forth my knowledge!

32:11 直到如今，我等待你们讲话，静听你们的理论，等待你们寻出适当的言词；
Behold, I have waited for your discourses, and have given ear to your arguments.

32:12 但现今我已明白看出，你们中没一个能驳倒约伯，能回答他的话的。
Yes, I followed you attentively as you searched out what to say; And behold, there is none who has convicted Job, not one of you who could refute his statements.

32:13 你们不要说：「我们寻到了智慧!只有天主可说服他，人却不能。」
Yet do not say, "We have met wisdom. God may vanquish him but not man!"

32:14 我决不这样辩论，也决不以你们说的话答复他。
For had he addressed his words to me, I should not then have answered him as you have done.

32:15 他们已心乱，不能再回答，且已穷于辞令。
They are dismayed, they make no more reply; words fail them.

32:16 他们已不再讲话了，他们已停止，不再答话了，我还等什么﹖
Must I wait? Now that they speak no more, and have ceased to make reply,

32:17 现在我要开始讲我的一段话，表示出我的见解。
I too will speak my part; I also will show my knowledge!

32:18 因为我觉着充满了要说的话，内心催迫着我。
For I am full of matters to utter; the spirit within me compels me.

32:19 看啊!我内心象寻觅出口酒，象要爆裂的新酒囊。
Like a new wineskin with wine under pressure, my bosom is ready to burst.

32:20 我一说出，必觉轻松，我定要开口发言。
Let me speak and obtain relief; let me open my lips, and make reply.

32:21 我决不顾情面，也决不奉承人。
I would not be partial to anyone, nor give flattering titles to any.

32:22 因为我不会奉承，不然，造我者必立即将我消灭。
For I know nought of flattery; if I did, my Maker would soon take me away.
